Crowdworking Code of Conduct

In August 2025, ComeUp joined the Crowdworking Code of Conduct, a voluntary initiative co-initiated by Testbirds in 2014, promoting fair and transparent working conditions for digital platform users.
This Code of Conduct lays out guiding principles that ensure trusting and fair cooperation among platforms, crowdworkers, and clients, reinforcing fair pay, security, and overall integrity in crowdwork

What is the Ombuds Office, and how can I use it?

As part of this initiative, an independent Ombuds Office has been established to act as a mediator between platforms and crowdworkers when disputes arise.
You can submit a complaint to the Ombuds Office if:
  • You have a specific issue, such as a payment problem or a concern about how the platform’s procedures work.
  • You have previously discussed the issue with the platform, but it remains unresolved.

How do I file a complaint?

  • Complaints must be in writing (email counts) and submitted in English via the Ombuds Office's official form that can be found on the Code of Conduct's website (click the "Submit a complaint" button to access it).
  • Your complaint should be clear and detailed.
  • The Ombuds Office aims to resolve matters within a few months, and the process is free.
  • When a complaint is submitted, it is answered within a two-week deadline in most cases.
All proceedings are confidential, covering personal and trade-sensitive information. A written outcome will be provided once the mediation is concluded.

Why this matters for you

Joining the Crowdworking Code of Conduct reflects ComeUp’s commitment to fair, transparent, and respectful collaboration. Now, if you ever feel a decision or process is unjust, you have a neutral, external mediator to turn to. This aligns with our goal to continue making ComeUp a freelance platform that provides the best possible working conditions for its users.
