Seller order process: Order in progress
This step begins once you have confirmed an order and started it or accepted a revision request. From that point on:
✅ You can start working immediately.
✅ You have to deliver (or redeliver) before the end of the delivery deadline that was fixed.
✅ The buyer can no longer cancel the order without your agreement, which enables you to work with peace of mind.
Make sure you keep your buyer informed of your progress on the order. Good communication helps to instill a climate of trust and avoid misunderstandings.
If you encounter difficulties or think you might be late, inform your buyer immediately. Transparency is essential: most buyers will understand if you keep them updated.
😍 Once your work is done, deliver the order by providing all the necessary elements to the buyer so they can check them.
I realize that the job is more difficult than I expected. What can I do?
If the order requires more work than planned, here are possible solutions:
- Talk with the buyer to explain the situation.
- Offer them to pay extra with a custom offer or additional options.
- If a solution is not found and you cannot complete the order as planned, consider canceling and explain the reasons to the buyer to avoid any misunderstanding.
💡 Pro tip: Before confirming an order, ensure that the work included in the order is clearly outlined to avoid this type of situation.
How can I partially refund my buyer?
If you want to make a partial refund, this functionality doesn't exist on the platform yet. But it is planned. Here's what you can do to cancel the order:
- Talk with the buyer to find a compromise to decide how much they should be refunded.
- Start the procedure to open a dispute. The mediator will check the order history and see what you've agreed with your buyer. They will proceed to the partial refund.
I accepted a revision request, but the buyer didn't give me all the necessary elements. What should I do?
If you accept a revision request but the buyer doesn't provide the necessary information, here's how you can manage the situation:
- Follow up with the buyer in the chat to remind them you need the missing elements.
- Explain that you can't move forward as long as you haven't received the necessary elements.
💡 Pro tip: Before accepting a revision request, ask the buyer to clearly detail the modifications they want to avoid this type of problem.
I'm going to be late. Can I deliver the order and finish it later?
🚫 No, you should not deliver an incomplete order, expecting to finish it later. That can lead to:
❌ A dispute with the buyer.
❌ A negative review of your service.
❌ A risk of sanctions from ComeUp because the practice is forbidden in our terms of service.
What should I do?
- Inform the buyer as soon as possible and explain the problem to them. Being transparent with your buyers allows you to have an earnest and peaceful discussion.
- See if they accept to wait and fix a new maximum delivery date, knowing that if the order is late, they can cancel it without your agreement.
💡 Pro tip: Always anticipate delays, and if you feel that you might exceed the delay, warn your buyer before the deadline. If the situation happens again, increase your delivery time for your services.
