Seller order process: Order waiting for confirmation

On ComeUp, every step of an order is carefully defined, from the start to the delivery, including possible revisions. All you need to do is let us guide you.

The buyer has just paid for their order: the money is placed in an independent secure escrow account. You will only have access to it once the order is fully finished and validated by the buyer. You're accessing the first stage in the order process: "Waiting for confirmation".

This step is essential: this is where you receive all the instructions necessary to complete the order correctly. In other words, this is when you need to ask the buyer for details and a clear brief. You have 48 hours to talk with them and get all the necessary information.

⚠️ Only start the order if you have all the information needed

It's up to you to confirm the start of the order. If you don't have all the necessary instructions or if essential elements are missing, you should not start the work. Starting an order without having all the necessary elements can lead to disputes and cancellations.

Examples of problematic situations:

  • A voice-over service ordered without a defined script.
  • A graphic design or website creation service ordered with a buyer who gives you full creative control with no precise instructions.
  • A community management service ordered without giving you access or rights to any of the necessary tools.

😍 If you believe you have all the information needed to complete the order, you can start the order. If that's not the case, and if missing elements are not provided within 48 hours after the order was placed, the order will be canceled automatically and the buyer will be fully refunded.

What happens if the buyer hasn't sent me all the information I requested or doesn't respond?

You have 48 hours after the payment validation to get all the information necessary from the buyer.

📌 If the buyer doesn't provide the essential elements or does not answer:

  • The order is automatically canceled.
  • The full amount is refunded to the buyer.
💡 Pro tip: Before the 48 hours expire, follow up with the buyer on the ComeUp chat to remind them you need the missing information. Our platform also sends out an automatic reminder by email.

What if the buyer wants to sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA) or doesn't want to give me certain information?

📌 If the buyer wants you to sign an NDA (Confidentiality agreement):

  • You can talk about it with them on the ComeUp chat.
  • ComeUp does not provide a default NDA, so if you accept, you will need to use your contract or the one they will submit to you.

📌 If the buyer refuses to share some information essential to the order:

  • Don't start the order until you have all the necessary elements.
  • Explain clearly that you cannot complete the work for their order without this information.
💡 Pro tip: Clearly state the information needed from the start of the order in your service description.

What happens if I decide to cancel the order at this stage or of my buyer cancels?

📌 If you want to cancel the order:

  • You can do so directly on the platform.
  • 🚨 This will impact your acceptance rate and your visibility on ComeUp.
  • We recommend only canceling if there's a significant cause or reason for canceling or if the buyer refuses to cooperate.

📌 If the buyer cancels the order:

  • The buyer is fully refunded.
  • You will not be paid.
  • 🚨 This will impact your acceptance rate and your visibility on ComeUp.
💡 Pro tip: Before canceling an order or if you feel that the buyer is going to cancel, try talking with them to find a compromise and understand the reasons. Good communication often helps to avoid cancellations and to clarify expectations.
