How do custom offers work as a seller?

A custom offer allows you to propose a tailored service to a buyer that isn’t included in your standard service. You’re free to define the price, delivery time, and details of the work.

This feature is available to sellers subscribed to ComeUp Plus Standard or Premium.

📌 How do I create a custom offer?

You can create a custom offer:

  • From an ongoing order
  • From a message conversation with a buyer

Simply click the “Make an offer” button.

You’ll then see the custom offer form, detailed below.

You can:

  • Add the custom offer as an option to the current order
  • Or create a new order if the request isn’t related to the existing one

Then enter:

  • The price
  • The delivery time
  • A description (optional but strongly recommended, especially in case of a dispute)

Click “Make an offer” to send it.


💬 From a conversation

You can send a custom offer with or without including the chat history:

  • Include the history if you want to keep the context
  • Start fresh if you’d prefer a clean, standalone order (helpful when sending multiple offers to the same buyer)

You’ll need to:

  • Select the relevant service (mandatory if you’re not using an existing order)
  • Set the price, delivery time, and a clear description of what you’ll deliver
  • Click “Make an offer”


Once sent, your offer will appear in the conversation thread. The buyer can accept or decline it. It will be labeled “Custom Offer n°X”.

✅ What happens after sending the offer?

  • If the buyer clicks “Order”, the payment is processed and the order begins
  • If they click “Decline”, the offer is permanently canceled
  • If they do nothing, the offer expires automatically after 7 days

💡 You can cancel your offer anytime as long as the buyer hasn’t responded to it.


Frequently asked questions


Can I send multiple custom offers at once in the same conversation?

Yes! You can send multiple offers to the same buyer. Each will remain active until it’s accepted, declined, or manually canceled.


How long does the buyer have to act on the offer?

They have 7 full days to accept or decline. If they don’t take action, it expires automatically.


Do I have to link a custom offer to one of my services?

Yes, especially if you're not using it as part of an active order. A custom offer must always be related to an existing service. For example, you cannot propose a website creation via a voice-over service. This could lead to issues if a dispute arises.


Does a custom offer count toward my sales stats?

Absolutely. A custom offer order is treated like any standard order and will affect your performance stats. So make sure to set the delivery time accordingly to avoid late deliveries.


Will the buyer pay both the base price and the custom offer amount?

No. If the offer is made before the buyer places an order, they’ll only pay the custom offer amount.

Just be sure to clearly outline what’s included.


How are custom offers handled in disputes?

Disputes are handled exactly like standard orders. Even though descriptions are technically optional, we highly recommend adding one if the chat doesn’t clearly define what was agreed on.

⚠️ Important: You cannot use custom offers to sell services not allowed on ComeUp. Custom offers should extend or customize one of your existing services, not create an unrelated one.
