How do custom offers work as a seller?
Custom offers enable you to propose a tailor-made service to your buyer for the price and the delivery time you want. This functionality is available for all sellers who benefit from a ComeUp Plus Standard and Premium plan.
How to create your custom offer?
From the discussion created by your buyer, either from your profile or your service page, you will be able to click "Make an offer". A new window will then open itself:
- In the "Service" field, you will find the service from which your buyer contacted you. If the buyer contacts you from your profile page, you can select the service corresponding to their request.
- You can then choose the price and delivery time for the offer in the adequate fields.
- The "Description" is optional. It is nonetheless highly recommended to detail what you will deliver. If there's a dispute, it will be essential to justify that you have delivered the expected work.
- Once you've completed these fields, you can click on "Make an offer" to send your proposition to the buyer.
Once you've made an offer, a summary of your offer will appear in the chat, and your buyer can accept or refuse it. It will carry the name: "Custom offer n°X”.
What happens once the offer is created?
- If the buyer clicks on "Order", they can directly place their order, just as they would for any service and option. They will be led to the payment page. The offer will definitively be accepted once the payment is completed. It won't be possible to order it again from the same custom offer.
- If the buyer clicks "Refuse" the offer will definitively be canceled. You are free to propose a new offer in the chat based on the discussion that you have with your buyer.
- If the buyer does not do anything, the offer cancels itself after 7 days.
💡Good to know: As long as your buyer has not acted on your offer, you can cancel it by clicking the “Cancel” button.
Frequently asked questions
Can the seller create multiple offers simultaneously in the same order?
You can create multiple custom offers at the same time and for the same buyer. They will remain active as long as they are not ordered, refused, or canceled.
How much time does the buyer have to act on an offer?
The buyer has seven full days to accept or refuse the offer proposed by the seller. If the buyer does not act on it, the offer will cancel itself automatically after this delay.
Is it obligatory to select a service related to the offer?
Yes, it's obligatory. A custom offer must always be linked to a service and related to it. You cannot, for example, complete a website creation service with a voice-over service. In case of a dispute, you risk being penalized.
Is an order completed with a custom offer accounted for in the statistics calculation?
Of course! Just like a usual order, it will count in your statistics. It's essential to set the correct delivery time to avoid being late.
Will the buyer have to pay the price of the basic offer in addition to the amount of the custom offer?
The buyer will only pay the amount of the custom offer if the offer has been proposed before an order has been placed. It's up to you to clearly describe what the offer contains.
How is a custom offer handled in a dispute?
Your dispute will be treated the same way as a non-custom offer by the mediator. Even if it's optional, we highly recommend you describe your offer in the "Description" if your agreement is unclear in your discussion space.
WARNING : You cannot propose an unauthorized service on the platform in your Custom offer. This offer's goal is to complete your service with work that is not planned or described in your basic offer, and/or your options. The offer must be related to one of your services.
