When can I refuse an order?
When a client places an order, you have 48 hours to validate it. You can also take advantage of this time to refuse it.
Check that you have complete specifications and all the elements required to carry out your order
This 48-hour period is crucial. You must make sure you have everything on hand to carry out your work because once the order is validated, the delivery time starts, and you must deliver within the allotted time. If your client doesn't get back to you fast enough, and you haven't received everything you need to start working, this could potentially make you late. Missing some or all of the required specifics and clear instructions is, therefore, a first reason for refusal. Do not hesitate to explain this to your buyer so that they can reorder now that you are both clear with the work that needs to be done.
A second ground for refusal is your own ethics. You can refuse an order that does not suit you. For example, working on a website that goes against your personal values or writing a text for which you do not have the skills at all. Again, explain things honestly to your buyer so that they can find a seller more suited to their needs.
If an order is canceled at this time, your pick-up rate is affected. Remember that this is the rate that has the least weight in your statistics, so it is better to have an order canceled at this stage than later.
Also keep in mind that if you do not validate your order within 48 hours, it will automatically be canceled and your client refunded.
